Today, I passed a church with a hand written sign posted out front, for sale by owner, with a phone number. It's a small church, convenient to nothing, really, although it is located between my gym and my favourite pizza place. It just struck me as odd, I guess that I have never pondered who owns a church, the building, the land. I suppose that most are owned by their denominations, but I just don't know. I have never thought about a person owning a church, that is operating as a church. I know people live in old church buildings, or make them restaurants, or recording studios. I have no idea how that happens. Are they deconsecrated?
Or does that phone number belong to God? If so, I have questions, and not all about real estate.
